Marijuana appears to be on the minds of Texas lawmakers, judging by the many cannabis-related bills introduced so far ahead of the Texas legislative session beginning in January.

Many of the proposed bills advocate legalization of cannabis for medicinal use, but some also advocate legalization of recreational marijuana. At least two bills specifically aim to update criminal sanctions for possession and sale of cannabis products.

The following is an overview of some of the cannabis-related bills filed with the Texas Legislature to date.
